Nov 1, 2011Barbara Clubb, City Librarian and CEO, Ottawa Public Library, Ont., has announced her retirement at the end of 2011 after 40 years of service to libraries. She served as 2005–06 President, Canadian Library Association (CLA), and won the CLA Outstanding Service to Librarianship Award in 2009.
Deb Hunt is now President-elect, Special Libraries Association (SLA), effective January 1, 2012. She will assume the presidency in January 2013. Hunt was Senior Information Specialist, Exploratorium, San Francisco, for 14 years.
Erma Rose Peda is now Director, Sweet Home Public Library, OR. She previously was Extension Services Librarian, Douglas County Library System, Roseburg, OR.
Cheryl Reddish is the new Director, Warren County Memorial Library, Warrenton, NC. She previously was Assistant Professor and Continuing Education Coordinator, School of Library and Information Sciences, North Carolina Central University, Durham.
Kevin Unrath is the new Principal Librarian–Borrower Services, Middletown Public Library, NJ.
Linda Watson, Director, University of Minnesota Health Services Libraries since 2005, has retired after a 36-year career as a health services librarian.
Mary Witherell is the new Director, Wyckoff Public Library, NJ. She previously was Director, Kemmerer Library, Harding Township, NJ.
OBITUARY
Edgar Glick, former External Research Administrator, Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress (LC), has died at the age of 88. Glick also worked at the National League of Cities and several other organizations before joining LC. He retired in 1989.
